In January 2021, the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH) released several mandatory workplace posters:

    • Care for their own serious health condition or a family member with a serious health condition; or
    • To bond with a new child (via birth, adoption, or foster care).

The poster specifically discusses the California Family Rights Act, pregnancy disability leave (PDL), and more. It also notifies employees employers must provide job-protected leave and accommodations to employees who are disabled by pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition.

  • Your Rights and Obligations as a Pregnant Employee workplace poster notifying employees of employer obligations and employee notice obligations related to CFRA and PDL.

The DFEH also provides the following 2021 fact sheets which must be posted in a conspicuous place:

The CFRA provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to care for their own serious health condition or a family member with a serious health condition, or to bond with a new child. Legislation that took effect January 1, 2021 expanded the CFRA in several major respects. Additionally, California law requires covered employers to provide employees disabled by pregnancy, childbirth, or a related medical condition with unpaid, job-protected leave (PDL) and/or accommodations.
